Completing Stanford’s Code in Place course 2021

In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, over 900 teachers from around the world came together to offer a first-of-its-kind volunteer-led course called Code in Place, hosted by Stanford University.

In April 2021, Stanford ran the course again.

Code in Place is based on CS106A, one of the most popular courses at Stanford University, taken by almost 1,600 students every year. The course teaches the fundamentals of computer programming using the widely-used Python programming language. This course was over six weeks and included everyone from humanists, social scientists, to hardcore engineers.

Code in Place was a great, uplifting, learning experience with me and thousands of other students learning the fundamentals of Python.

My final project for the course was a visualisation tool to show trends in datasets using Python and the SimpleImage library.
